Cannibal movie from the 80s ish?

I am trying to recall the name of a movie I watched as a kid, I remember canibals, and an island, lost of stone background. Skulls, and bones all over tha place in some scenes. It was not cannibal holocaust, but I remember seeing it on cable several times. If only I could remember. The lead charactor had a beard if I recall correctly. Much like the alan quartermain movies. thanks in advance for helping me find this old movie.
