How do I copy an .avi video to a blank CD?

I usually use Nero When i do this, it saves me an hour and a half of converting the avi file into a proper dvd avi file, all you have to do if you have Nero is open it up, make sure the pull down menu says DVD then chose the top option: DVD-ROM (ISO). Then go New, find the file, drag it into the colum under name,. then go to burn.
