Could it be that she influenced our break up?

So, my bf broke up with me tonight. Thing is..the reason sounds like bs to me. Once, I tried breaking up with him, but he insisted we get back together because he wanted to work things out. This was about a three weeks ago. He is friends with my once best friend and she hates me now. After he broke up with me I asked him if he talked to her 2day and he said yes. Well, his reason for breaking up with me is because he doesn't think he'll be able to have a decent conversation with me, and he said his friend said her boyfriend hates her because they argue alot but they made up. He and I USED to argue alot, but we stopped. Yesterday, my other friend told me that I should break up with him because he's trying subtly to get with my ex-best friend and the only reason I'm around is so he won't be lonely. She only thinks of him as a brother last time I talked to her, but she's changed now. Am I being paranoid? Or do you think she might have had something to do with this?
