Do you think this guy meant to dump me or he was worried I was dumping him?

We went out twice, at this point, and on that second date he was very crazy about me, until we got interrupted by a woman who was video chatting w/him. So, I left, even though we didn't have a committment, it spoiled the moment. He didn't want me to leave, but I did, and he understood. Well, that very night, he sent me a ton of IM's saying how much he liked me. I never responded to them so he then called me the next monring & he said he didn't mean the emails, that he thinks we should just be friends, but he wanted me to go to his party and to a concert. Well, I texted him back saying I couldn't just be friends w/him, so he invited me to his place and again professed how crazy he is about me. Do you think he meant to dump me? Or, he was just worried I was dumping him? Thanks.
